Mixjam
Concept for a music app designed to adapt to your taste, mood, and activity level. MixJam uses artificial intelligence to track listening habits and create full-length, mixtape-style playlists based on user input. Smartwatch compatibility also allows listeners to sync the tempo to their activity, making it a perfect tool for soundtracking everyday life.

THE BRAND:
Based on user research, MixJam's main audience is young adults looking for a playlisting app that can keep up with their busy lifestyle and unique tastes. The brand therefore seeks to mirror that individuality through the use of bold colors and typography.

THE RESEARCH:
To determine what content should be prioritized within the app, I engaged with several user experience (UX) research techniques. These included affinity diagrams, user personas, journey maps, and competitive analyses of similar apps on the market.

THE PROTOTYPE:
After solidifying what the app was (and was not), I used Figma to draft the contents of each page. Brand colors and fonts were then applied to the wireframes, which I animated and connected together to create a working prototype.
In the final version, users can tailor a new profile to their tastes, view their personalized mixes, search for artists, and sync a jam to their wearable device (among other features).
You can preview the app for yourself in the window below.
